Description

In the tradition of William Gibson, Neal Stephenson, and Richard Morgan, British writer Colin F. Barnes delivers a cyberpunk tech thriller for the modern age.

2153. Post-cataclysm. The last city exists beneath a dome where the mysterious benefactors ‘The Family’ tightly control the population with a death lottery and a semi-autonomous network.

All is well until the day family man Gerry Cardle, head of the death lottery, inexplicably finds himself the no.1 target of a malicious Artificial Intelligence. Gerry’s numbers are up, and he has just 7 days to save himself, find the source of the AI, and keep the last stronghold of humanity safe.

Gerry finds help in the shadows of the city from two rogue hackers:

Petal – a teenage girl with a penchant for violence, hacking systems and general anarchy, and:

Gabriel – a burnt-out programmer-turned-priest with highly augmented cybernetics.

With his new team, Gerry discovers there is more beyond the dome than The Family had let on, and his journey to find the source of the AI leads him through a world of violence, danger, and startling revelations.

Everything is not as it seems. Gerry is not who he thinks he is. Evil can be coded…. can Gerry and his friends stop it before it destroys humanity?

Artificial Evil is book 1 of 3 of The Techxorcist series. The larger-than-life offspring of Blade Runner, Mad Max and The Exorcist.

A thousand years have passed since the Clan Lords and the Fey commanded dragons and raised mighty citadels. The remnants of their ancient power lie dormant and a new conflict threatens the kingdom of Antia…

King Daris rules a peaceful and prosperous land, but his conniving brother Jerim covets the throne and civil war looms.

But there are worse threats to Antia than mere human greed.

Two people will stand against mortal and demonic enemies: Alyda Stenna, Captain of the Hammer of Antia returns from campaign to a hero’s welcome after prosecuting war abroad with brutal efficiency.

Garian Tain, the spymaster’s apprentice, hunts for an assassin through the streets of the capital while the knights bask in the adoration of the crowds.

This is just the beginning.

Both will fight overwhelming odds in a bid to save the kingdom. War and betrayal will test them to their limits. One will rise; one will fall; both will be changed forever.

Stay tuned for more details soon.

Press Release from Anachron Press

As an indie publisher, here at Fox Spirit we believe it’s important to draw your attention to other small presses doing good things, with that in mind I wanted to share the press release for the latest Anachron title.

———

On the back of the release of our previous City of Hell Chronicles title (Volume 1), we’re proud to announce the release of Trifecta, the new addiction to the City of Hell mythos. As we learned from Volume 1, The Great Maurr, the ancient ant god has risen from beneath the earth to rule over mankind. His minions devoured vast portions of the planet, leaving just a few remaining cities and human survivors. It’s from these survivors that we see the terrible consequences and experience the horror.

In Trifecta, James Everington, Phil Ambler, and Nina D’Arcangela present us with three more stories from varying points of view in this on-going bug-apocalypse. Even from one of Maurr’s very own ant drones.

Releasing initially on the kindle platform on 25th of June, the paperback and ePub book for all other devices will follow in the coming weeks. More details as soon as we have the final release date.

Trifecta will be Priced at $1.99 (£1.50, €1.50) for the ebooks, and £3.50 for the print book, which will be a 56 page ‘pocketbook’.
