Spares Press Release

Monday 22nd October sees the official launch of ‘Spares’ a novella by Alec McQuay, through Fox Spirit.

No-one dies anymore. Ever.

In the wake of the virus wars you are either undamaged and whole or a walking corpse, animated by no-one knows what and cobbled together out of odds and ends by doctors who don’t really bare thinking about. In this world a surgical scar too many is the difference between a sheltered life of privilege with the Untouched and banishment to the dark, dangerous streets, where it’s every lurcher for themselves and gang culture is rife.

When one of their number is injured in a terrorist bombing, one such gang finds themselves with a large medical bill and a rapidly dwindling list of options, ultimately leading them on a collision course with the Untouched that could change humanity’s course forever.

Parts break, wear out, fall off or get stolen as humanity turns on itself for the one thing it needs in order to keep going:

Spares.

Alec has created a vivid world in this post apocalyptic cyberpunk novella, where a good surgeon is the ultimate accessory.

Press Release: Requiem in E Sharp Release Date

Fox Spirit is pleased to announce the release of its first title, a serial killer thriller ‘Requiem in E Sharp’ by South African author Joan De La Haye.
‘Sundays in Pretoria are dangerous for selected women.

A murderer plagued by his childhood, has found a distinctive modus operandi to salve his pathological need to escape the domination of the person who was supposed to cherish him.

As The Bathroom Strangler’s frenzy escalates and the body count mounts, Nico van Staaden, the lead detective on the case, finds himself confronting his own demons as he struggles to solve the murders of the seemingly unconnected victims. The lack of evidence in the sequence of deaths and pressure from his superiors are challenges he must overcome.’

The ebook will be available from 9th July at Amazon and shortly after at Wizards Tower and other outlets.

The book will be made available as a paperback for print on demand later this year.
The release of ‘Requiem in E Sharp’ will be followed later in July by Joan’s post-apocalyptic zombie novella ‘Oasis’. The re-release of her horror novel ‘Shadows’ will be in August.

Press Release from Anachron Press

As an indie publisher, here at Fox Spirit we believe it’s important to draw your attention to other small presses doing good things, with that in mind I wanted to share the press release for the latest Anachron title.

———

On the back of the release of our previous City of Hell Chronicles title (Volume 1), we’re proud to announce the release of Trifecta, the new addiction to the City of Hell mythos. As we learned from Volume 1, The Great Maurr, the ancient ant god has risen from beneath the earth to rule over mankind. His minions devoured vast portions of the planet, leaving just a few remaining cities and human survivors. It’s from these survivors that we see the terrible consequences and experience the horror.

In Trifecta, James Everington, Phil Ambler, and Nina D’Arcangela present us with three more stories from varying points of view in this on-going bug-apocalypse. Even from one of Maurr’s very own ant drones.

Releasing initially on the kindle platform on 25th of June, the paperback and ePub book for all other devices will follow in the coming weeks. More details as soon as we have the final release date.

Trifecta will be Priced at $1.99 (£1.50, €1.50) for the ebooks, and £3.50 for the print book, which will be a 56 page ‘pocketbook’.
